What do we do
The MSK Health, Sport & Exercise lab is focused to reducing the burden of painful musculoskeletal (muscle, joints, bone) conditions – the biggest source of disability in the world. This includes research and other activities to develop, evaluate and implement new and effective exercise-based therapies to prevent, rehabilitate, and manage these injuries and conditions (with a particular focus on knee injuries and post-traumatic osteoarthritis).
Our work is done in partnership with patients/athletes and health professionals to ensure that is it acceptable, relevant, and empowering. This includes:
Aim 1: Develop, evaluate and implement novel, practical and accessible exercise-based therapies to prevent, rehabilitate and manage MSK injuries and conditions in underserved populations.
Aim 2: Identify and evaluate novel point-of-care clinical outcomes of MSK health and osteoarthritis.
Aim 3: Explore novel methods to monitor motion and exercise-therapy fidelity in real-world settings.
